Project objectives and activities
The main objective of the project is to develop and test a new concrete material with increased flexural strength and lower permeability. In order to reach this objective, systematic investigations via two main experimental techniques will be considered: i) Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) relaxometry and diffusometry studies and ii) compressive and flexural test measurements. The outcomes of these two techniques will be compared for the developing of the new concrete material. In order to achieve the main objective of the research project the following specific objectives will be considered.
The specific objectives:
O1. Determining the effect of silica fume, organosilane and water to cement ratio on the hydration process, porosity and mechanical strength of cement paste (Year 2017; Budget: 385000 lei)
O2: Determining the influence of silica fume silanization on the hydration process, porosity and mechanical strength of cement paste (Year 2018; Budget: 215000 lei)
